Close cooperation during the development and beta testing of Coates product has ensured compatibility with the LDI exposure units currently in use within the PCB industry. Offering high photosensitivity (30-45mJ/cm2) permits the use of conventional LDI exposure technology. It digitises the entire PCB process (from LDI produced innerlayers & laser via generation through to LDI generated outer layers).
LDImagecure remains compatible with all conventional finishes (HASL, Ni/Au, Sn, OSP, etc).
The use of LDImagecure also eliminates the need to produce, store and handle conventional photo-tools from the PCB manufacture process. The removal of any artwork effects combined with accurate, repeatable and scalable registration serve to offer improved yields on high definition, high value PCBs.

REGISTRATION of LASER IMAGED FILM vs STANDARD CONTACT PRINTING
A - Imaged on Orbotech DP100 (Magnification x 100).
Perfect registration accuracy can be achieved, with LDI system repeatability of this accuracy is assured. |
B - Imaged on a standard contact printer (Magnification X 100).
The types of misregistration illustrated below- due to temperature effects, artwork shift/growth and operator error, etc - are common with conventional exposure systems. |
