Coates Screen has launched a new and
unique ink to match the big growth in the use of fluted and sheet grades
of treated polyolefines for sign and display work. We are calling the
ink 'UVPO¹ and it is already raising standards at leading printers
worldwide.
Previously, a catalyst was necessary to obtain
secure adhesion with UV inks on these substrates; this was never popular,
and brought with it all the attendant problems of catalysed inks. Market
trials have now indicated though that UVPO exceeds the resistance and
adhesion properties of other current UV products, with none of their
disadvantages.
UVPO is used straight from the tub, so no time is
lost making the necessarily accurate mixes of the ink and the catalyst,
the difficulties of relatively short shelf life no longer exist and
adhesion levels are such that any concern over the final print¹s
performance is completely eliminated.
UVPO is already achieving wide use for much display
work, for interior and outside display, for real estate and retail
signage, for dump bins, for packaging and for stationery use, and is sure
to mark the next level of standards in polyolefine printing.
