ESMA - IMD Applications Workshop
  
ESMA's Industrial Applications Committee with it¹s focus this year on high technology applications for screen printing , and recognition that the market for screen printing in the inset in-mould decoration [IMD] market, is one of the most exciting potential areas of growth, organised a one day workshop in conjunction with Autotype International recently.

Keith Ramsey, Global Marketing Manager, was chosen by the ESMA IAC to present on behalf of European screen ink manufacturers

The one day workshop was arranged exclusively for ESMA member companies and had a limit of 20 delegates, based on the capacity of the IMD applications laboratory. The exclusive event was a sell out and the practical demonstration was supported and underpinned with presentations from Tim Wright Business Manager IMD [Autotype], Chris Hills Managing Director  [R. H. Technical Industries] who are at the forefront of commercial use of the screen process in IMD technology and Keith Ramsey Global Marketing Manager [Coates Screen], the event was coordinated by Derek Down ESMA General Secretary and Heinz Brocker of Gallus the Industrial Applications Committee Chairman.

The overall objective was to provide ESMA members with a deeper insight into IMD technology and present a balanced view of both the significant potential and also the limiting factors with the various techniques, which collectively result in a finished IMD part.  The main target market sectors for IMD in use are those of Automotive, White Goods [Domestic Appliances], Brown Goods [TV, Video and Hi-Fi applications] and Business Machines [PC¹s, Printers and Copiers]
