The purpose of 'Quality Assurance' is to prevent quality problems before
they happen. A 'Quality Assurance System' consists of all the planned and systematic activities that are used in this prevention activity
(i.e. documentation, organisational structure/responsibilities, procedures, processes, resources etc.)

The system is used to ensure that all factors (human, administrative and technical) affecting Quality are under control so that all methods, materials
and equipment provide consistency and satisfaction to both internal and
external customers.

ISO 9000

ISO 9000 has been developed as an international standard for Quality Systems. A business of any type or size may submit its Quality Systems for approval against the ISO 9000 standard, which lays down requirements for the establishment, documentation and maintenance of an effective Quality System. Approval against ISO 9000 is a significant stamp of achievement for the way the business operates (not specifically against products) and should be regarded as a mark of ability to meet agreed customer requirements.

ISO 9000 Registration

At Coates Screen we have submitted our complete operations for registration against ISO 9000, including our product development centres as well as manufacture, supply and technical service activities. Each registered site has been examined by a nationally approved accreditation body, acting as the "Customer's representative" to examine every facet of the Quality system against ISO 9000 prior to the grating of registration.

Our Quality Systems are now subject to ongoing audit and review through random visits by the accreditation bodies, and scheduled internal audits, to ensure that they are continually maintained and approved.
